Concord will have wonderful activities for Independence Day. Here’s what’s planned

Parade:
Get a good seat along the parade route. This year’s parade will kick off at 10 AM with an “All that Jazz” theme; Solo Opera will be feautring Leandra Ramm and Bradley Kynard, from Gershwin’s opera. They will be singing, “Porgy and Bess” as well as other opera and jazz favorites. Cheer loudly for your favorite entry and let the parade participants know how much you enjoy their performance! The winners will be judged and announced by the Concord City Council at a future council meeting. Parade will start at Mount Diablo High School.

Festival:
Come out and enjoy Concord’s Home Town Picnic, Starting at 4:00 PM, the gates will open for the 6th Annual 4th of July Festival with a kids carnival, food and vendor booths, and local artists’ exhibits. Live entertainment on stage will start at 5 PM with the Air Force Band, and The Big Jangle – A Tribute to Tom Petty and all things Jangly. Finally, at 9:00 PM, the day will conclude with a glorious fireworks display!
